Are you tardy in your responses to incoming personal email? Do you respond to some right away and others later — if at all? If you answered yes to that last question, then you’ve confirmed what those on the other side assume. Some folks have your attention and priority more than others.
Part of being online is learning certain basics so that are not only informed and perceived as an individual who understands the technology in which you are participating but to also ensure those you communicate with have a pleasant and easy experience.
Forwarding of any content without the original author/creator/emailer/IMer’s explicit permission is not proper, nor is it legal.
You are what you type; you are the words you choose to use. Know that what you type will be taken at it’s face value by the other side — that they will take you at your word(s).
No matter how nice, how kind, how thoughtful they may be in asking someone to stop forwarding these “forward to everyone you know” emails, the forwarder will either have hurt feelings or get downright belligerent in the belief that they can do what they want.
