Respecting Business E-mail Addresses

December 17, 2009 by Judith

Just as you wouldn’t call someone at work every hour with the latest gossip or joke you’ve heard, nor should you forward them silly jokes, political commentary or anything that says “forward to all your friends” to known business e-mail addresses.

And it goes without saying that while you are on company time, using your company’s e-mail addresses that this type of activity is a big no-no!

This is pretty much common sense. Many times work e-mails are monitored and folks are busy keeping up with their responsibilities — i.e. the job they are getting paid for at that e-mail address.

If you must forward non-business related e-mails, send to your friend’s personal e-mail address. If you don’t have their personal address — simply don’t forward.

How do you get someone to quit forwarding unasked for nonsensical e-mails? I wrote this article just for you!
